Few weeks ago, I applied to an opportunity.

A guy whom I know was filming and was offering 5000 HUF (25 USD) for a 4 hour recording on a bus to play the crowd. I learned in the Balakns that some people kill even for less, we are short of money, so I applied. I did it with a pic of me and Lotti. When they saw it they asked if I could  bring one of my kids too, and could I bring her to both days (Meaning boat ride and bus ride recording too) and they would pay for her too. So in the end, Lea and I ended up making 20000 HUF (105 USD) in less then 6 hours… I wish I could do this more often…

I had a dream. My dream was to once in my life win the Nobel prize in literature. As Naive as it sounds, there you go. I admit it.

The person who was awarded for the Peace Nobel Prize this year has killed this dream.

I do not want to have anyconnections after this with the Nobel Prize. Even if I write that book EVER.

If he would have the gutts, he would have said: “No thank you. Honestly I have done nothing yet to deserve it, so look for someone else…” Then he would be my hero. but after this I will not even put his name into this post… Its the shame of the Nobel Prize comitee, and with recieving it, it became his shame too.

 I was suggested to reread a chapter in Peter Scazzero’s book titled: Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. The chapter was about our nead for rest and the fact that we need to practice a daily fellowship with GOD.

If you know me you know that I am often still a “careless punk”, when I am speaking… I do not pay much attention to be precise I rather expect others to figure it out…

Studies in general (but theology especially) have changed me. And what I will share now will be a perfect examlpe for the importance of being careful and precise with our usage of words, how we express things…

The writer exlains how it all start with the fact that we call our time with GOD Devotions or quite time. Its wrong.
Both are in singular. Both communicate its something you do once a day for few minutes and yu are done. But do we eat only once a day? NO. then why would we be satisfied with 1 short spiritual meal a day?

He offers the name Daily office… I am not too thrilled with that name either… but I like when he descirbes it as “practicing the presence of GOD”(brother Lawrence).

It is more then just reading the Bible, Praying, aybe a devotional, then Church (sunday and midweek), maybe home fellowship, etc.

The connection point between shabbath and Practicing the Daily presence of God…is the following. they both require us to STOP. Stopping and surrenderin to GOD in trust.

Trusting our time, trusting the he cares, trsuting that he takes care…

He draws his knowledge from studying many different groups of Christians. here are soe quotes from him:

“The root of the Daily Office is not so much a turning to GOD to get something but to be with Someone.” How important to keep in mind….

It also has to be a rhythm. several times a day connecting with GOD. He draws the example of the Trappist monks. I would spare you from reading Pslams at 3.45 am… but it surely is neccesary to find a rhythm that works for you… I would say at least 3-5 different points of your day when you SURELY stop and surrender to GOD in trust.

David has prayed 7 times a day (Psalm 119:164)

Muslims Stop and surrender to Allah 5 times a day.

Daniel prayed 3 times a day (Daniel 6:10)

How many times do you and me do it?

“The key is regular remembrance of GOD, not length.”

“The purpose of the Daily Office is to remember GOD and commune with HIM all through our days.”

SO THATS FOR THE DAILY TIME SPENT WITH GOD…

I was blessed to go to Srebrenica, Bosnia this past weekend.

It was a great time with my father and also with Tom Foley.

Non the less, we were an intereseting trio. At every border crossing they looked at us like spies…

I will certainly NEVER FORGET the Serbian/Bosnian border…

My car was NEVER searched as this time…

Few words on Srebrenica.

Vukovar, you are a lucky, blessed place comapered to them… You are a brand new city compared to them… you are a thriving community compared to them…

Barely few buildings are renewed. The Serbian flags and the cyrilic signs are (to say the least) offending.

Huge line of cars, go towards the village Potočari. My father recalls the “famous” sentence of the war criminal Ratko Mladic:  “Straight to Potočari”.

We went. 1 thing I can say for sure. As long as that bastard (Ratko Mladic) is free… UN, EU, USA, G8, Republic of Serbia,  and everyone involved in hiding him IS A WAR CRIINAL.

Everyone should go there at least once in their life time.

What brout tears to my eyes?

0. A young guy who has walked more then 110 km out of resect for the victims

1. 534 cascets of mostly innocent victims…

 2. Many family members waiting for their loved ones to be brought to them…

3. A young boy who was awaiting his grandfathers cascet

4. the seemingly endless number of cascets and the UNITY how they went hand to hand…

6. another girl, who was recording the funeral of her own brother… he was born in 1976.I was born in 1977. she could have been my younger sister…

7. no more cascets… for now.

Potočari, Srebrenica… I will come back.
